Why join the Charlottesville Area Planned Giving Council?

If you’re a professional advisor (financial, attorney, accountant, trust officer, life insurance agent, and others) you’ll want to join to:

  • Build professional skills and strategies that can benefit your clients to enable tax benefits, legacy, and the accomplishment of client and family goals.
  • Learn asset-based strategies that can be especially relevant to business owners and those with low-cost basis real estate ownership.
  • Foster local generosity through charitable giving.

 

If you’re affiliated with a non-profit (a fundraiser, executive, or board member) you’ll want to join to:

  • Develop your comfort level with planned giving topics that can be perceived as daunting and highly technical (hint: they are not!).
  • Build relationships with fundraising colleagues that are available for brainstorming ideas and approaches with donors.
  • Maximize future revenue for your non-profit through planned gifts.

Annual Membership includes:

  • Access to Fall, Winter, and Spring educational and networking events featuring local, regional, and national speakers. Some events are hosted fully online, others take place in person, with hybrid attendance options often available. Attendance at these events costs $40/session for non-members (effective July 2023).
  • Access to “Ask the Experts” – a virtual opportunity for members to connect with local professionals who can answer questions and assist with specific challenges (topic varies).
  • Members may register one guest complimentarily for each program, virtual or in-person.
  • Access to the online member directory.
  • Member-only content accessible on the www.capgc.org website. The password to this content will be sent to new and renewing members.
  • Networking receptions with associated professional groups.
  • Annual membership is $80 (effective July 2023).
